At the end of the IMRF General meeting on the afternoon of Tuesday June 18th come out and learn about the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) – School of Transportation. As a leading provider of accredited professional training for the maritime industry on the West coast of North America, you can learn about their programs in navigation, marine engineering, seamanship and maritime safety and security. You will get the opportunity to test your skills at navigating on the bridge of a large ship and safely pilot it during a scenario in one of the school’s simulators. This two-hour session will highlight BCIT’s innovative and professional programs for the marine transportation industry.
The British Columbia Institute of Technology Marine training centre is located in North Vancouver along the Burrard Inlet near the Lonsdale Quay. It is easily accessed by taking the passenger SeaBus from the downtown terminal located near the Vancouver Convention Centre. The 15-minute sailings depart every 15 minutes and will take you to the Lonsdale Quay next to the BCIT Marine Training Centre which will be another 5 minute walk to the centre.
